Have you ever been in the middle of doing something important like paying a bill, finishing up an important project at work, or trying to complete a thought and someone starts talking to you about something else? Then when you return to complete what you were doing, you realize that your bill is now late or you entered the wrong account number. You may have forgotten to save the project and lost the entire thing! Or that the entire thought has somehow escaped you! This has happened to me a few times. Distractions set us back and throw us completely off of track. As working moms and wives, it can be really difficult sometimes not to get distracted. Distraction is apart of our everyday lives and we have to learn to slow down and manage the distractions that we face daily. Before we walk away from one task we either need to finish it, or make a memorable notation of where we are with something. We also can prepare for distractions. We need to create places where we can get a quiet moment to pay bills, create grocery list, and just breathe for a second. While working, we need to utilize posted notes and calendars to assist with decreasing the amount of information lost during distractions.

There is no true way to guarantee that distractions will never occur with such busy lives, but there are ways to prepare for them. This week, lets each commit to handling our distractions better and having our lives move a little smoother.
