So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.
Today, I had the privilege of spending the morning and afternoon on the beach. I watched planes fly by, listened to different music, enjoyed the running, splashing, and laughter of children, watched people tan in the sun, read books, and just enjoy each other. No one appeared rushed, angry or sad; everyone seemed at peace. We live very few days this way, we spend about 2 to 3 weeks; that’s 21 days out of 365 at peace and live the others in frequent stress and consistent movement. We are cheating ourselves. We are cheating ourselves, by depriving ourselves 344 days of the year. Starting today, we must find a way to live calmer and happier. We have to make it our mission carve out our peaceful places in our everyday lives, so that we can live longer and healthier. Less stress means less hospital visits and more years to enjoy the moments that make us smile.
This week, lets each commit to making our lives better. Not to making more money or buying larger homes, but to overall living better. Let’s all make everyone of our days as peaceful as sitting at the shore of the beach.
“A lion’s work hours are only when he’s hungry; once he’s satisfied, the predator and prey live peacefully together.”
– Chuck Jones
