Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.
As we approach the holidays the hearts of many are becoming full of joy and happiness. It’s during this time of the year that many of us are at the stores and online shopping all day. Christmas, is the holiday of giving, and we all fall into the routine of it. It’s customary for many to exchange gifts during this season, but what about the rest of the year? We need to be careful to also remember to give more than just material things. It’s even more important to think about those outside of your home and family. To consider the people who have nothing materially to offer, and will not receive anything. The true meaning of “giving,” is being able to open your hearts to others.
This week, in preparation for the Christmas holidays and the entire next year after, let’s be good givers. Give to the ones you love, as well as to the ones who are just in need. Consider donating to a drive, volunteering at a shelter, and just sharing love and smiles with all you cross paths with. Giving will not only bless another, but it will also bless you as well.
“Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.”
